Prior to WordPress version 2.5, it had a very handy bookmarklet that let you create a post or a link in your blog based on any page that you are on. In WordPress version 2.5 this was removed, then replaced with the ‘Press This’ bookmarklet. This can be found under the Tools menu in your WordPress admin and it is great for creating new posts. But it does not allow for the quick creation of links to use in your blogrolls.
The current Press This bookmarklet
This new plugin adds this missing functionality. To install this plugin you can either search for ‘link this bookmarklet’ in the plugin admin section of your blog, or alternatively download the zip file directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory. Once it’s installed, there aren’t any options or settings pages, it just adds a link next to the ‘Visit plugin site’ on the plugin’s listing on the admin page
Add this link to your browser’s bookmarks/favourites bar. That’s it, you’re done.
Now, when you’re on a page that you want to add to your site as a link, click the bookmarklet and the form will appear in the top right of the page. It will auto populate the name and url of the page. You can then optionally put in a description and add it to specific link categories.
This is what the bookmarklet looks like
As always, please leave any comments/suggestions below. But if you have a bug report for the plugin, please leave it on the WordPress plugins forum here so I can keep track of the issues.

Great idea, but does not work for me – it always says it failed to link.
@arabist, could you please log an issue in the forums, it would make it a lot easier to keep track of issues? If you mail a screenshot to plugins at slaven.net.au too that would be very helpful too. Thanks

Works great for me. A couple of suggestions, though:
(1) I would love to see a settings page that let’s a user customize the height of the foreground div. I had to edit link-this-bookmarklet-js.php directly to make it larger due to a the number of categories I have.
(2) If the user selects text on the page, use that text as the site description.
