- Apparently Adobe’s new Photoshop CS3 was developed using agile methodology with great success.
- Scott Hanselman throws down the challenge for the Ultimate Developer Rig
- Scott Guthrie has an extensive post on some new Orcas features: Automatic Properties, Object Initializers, and Collection Initializers. Automatic properties, such a simple change but will save so much redundant coding Also, extension methods rock!
- Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud looks like it may have some serious potential for small-med developers.
- .NET 2.0 makes custom configuration section handlers even easier
- Angus Locan recons Javascript development in Orcas is great

- Following on from all that Fizz-Buzz discussion last week, Phil Haack looks as recursion vs using stacks and why recursion isn’t always the best solution.
- Jeff Atwood looks at using Amazon’s S3 service for hosting images to reduce bandwidth and finds the great S3Fox Organizer for FireFox.
- FreshBooks, the best invoicing solution I’ve found, has just announced that they’ve joined with Basecamp to make online organising of tasks and projects even easier. Signup here & I get a kickback!
- The Google Webmaster Central Blog has a post up on the correct use of the site: command and how it will be changing in the near future.

- Jeff Atwood laments the quality of programmers, while Phil Haack laments the quality of Jeff’s commenters.
- Long Zeng has a very interesting article on the new User Experience Guidelines for Vista
- Freshbooks and Basecamp have now integrated. You can now import projects into Freshbooks from Basecamp and generate invoices based on time entries and todo lists. Sweet!

I haven’t really had much time to post anything this week, we’re moving house this weekend, so we’ve been madly packing. That’s alo why this post is a day late, my telco hasn’t sorted out my new phone line and ADSL connection yet.
Fortunately there’s plenty of other people out there with time on their hands…

Just consider the consequences before taking the easy way. My advice is to throw away the designer and start writing code
- The infinitely useful Sysinternals applications has been released in a single download zip file. A full list of what’s included and what they do is available here.
- On the subject of lists, SQL Server Code,Tips and Tricks, Performance Tuning has a list of Ten SQL Server Functions That You Hardly Use But Should and Mike Woodring has a huge amount .NET sample code for pretty much anything you can think of
- Joe White is running a 31 day series on ReSharper.
