No internet at home for over a week now. Really not coping here!
Development
- Jeff Atwood laments the quality of programmers, while Phil Haack laments the quality of Jeff’s commenters.
- Long Zeng has a very interesting article on the new User Experience Guidelines for Vista
- Freshbooks and Basecamp have now integrated. You can now import projects into Freshbooks from Basecamp and generate invoices based on time entries and todo lists. Sweet!
Gaming
- A Halo comic is coming out soon, from Marvel
- Atomic Mag has an interview with Mike Verdu, executive producer on Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Dawn. You can download the demo from AusGamers.
- GigaGamez recons Halo 3 might be the first killer app for the 360.
Blogging
- Nick Bradbury notes that with the increase in embeded rich media, people who use RSS readers are missing out because the readers generally strip this out for security reasons. He’d like to see the <noembed> tag utilised. I smell a new WordPress plugin.
- There is an emergency 2.1.2 update to WordPress. Some of the 2.1.1 download files were compromised on the server and so all 2.1.1 installs (unless you use the SVN source) should be considered dangerous.
- DivShare released the 1.0 version of their WordPress plugin, which replaces the image uploader section of the edit post admin page with a direct uploader to DivShare.
New category: Beer!
- Guinness is trialing a new version: Red. Just don’t try and get into their site if you’re not from the UK!
